Fursaken - Wow!
I mean, wow!
What started off as a casual e-mail about a year ago has turned into the best script I have written ("not difficult" some of you might say, to which I would reply "sod off to the 'saw' website").
The story is evolving on a daily basis. New characters are being concieved, evolved and, often, devoured. New, ambitious, set pieces dreamed up all of which can be delivered within the Bad Monkey ethos - i.e. for next to nothing!!
The success of low budget fare such as "Colin" and "Paranormal Activity" demonstrates that the indie horroe filmmaker has never had it so good.
Hollywood will try and emulate thier success but it will be obvious what is a true indie horror movie and what is a big budger wannabe.
Our target? A feature length, no budget, horror movie employing the talent and good will of friends and volunteers that will take 2010 by storm!
GET INVOLVED
We need actors, lights, locations, catering, money etc. Can you help? If so, contact us at info@badmonkeymovies.com.
Donations over £100 will earn an Excecutive Producer credit and a free dvd of the finished movie!

Fursaken - returning terror to the British countryside...
What was planned as a sub 30 minute short is now looking like it will clock in at over an hour!
So what do we do? We tweak the script a little, add some John Woo style slow-mo and voila - feature length (we hope!!!)
Principal photography is proposed for Spring 2010 with a view to getting into the Autumn 2010 festival circuit!
We have cast the two main roles and are planning to recruit/raise money over the Winter.
Keep visiting badmonkeymovies.com for updates!

WINTER UPDATE!!!
The latest news from Bad Monkey Movies…
Work commitments have meant that production has been slow lately but we hope to up the ante in 2009.
"Goldie" our submission to the Cut Film Competition didn't win (judging by the finalists, it appears they might not have watched it!!)
We are currently working on a 30 minute feature "Fursaken" - a delve into the hidden horrors of the British Countryside.
The film is currently in pre-production with the script and budget being honed. Depending on the outcome, this one might have sequel potential!
This aims to be our most ambitious feature to date and we will post more news in due course.

"Goldie" Unleashed!
We are delighted to announce the completion of filming for "Goldie", our entry into the Zone Horror 2008 Short Film Competition.
We have posted a rough cut on You Tube - click here to view.
A final version will follow shortly as we still have some post production effects to complete.
Hope you like it!

Bad Monkey In Competition
Time to put our money where our mouths are!
We plan to enter at least one movie to this years "2 Days Later" horror film competition.
Both Dylan and Jason are working on separate scripts, on the provision that the resultant movies are shot, edited and put on dvd within 48 hours!
It's a tough order, but I think we can do it!
We will add details of the scripts soon, but in the meantime, have a look at www.2dayslater.co.uk for details on the competition and festival.

Bad Monkey to be Clowning Around!
A big shout out to Tyler Nichols from Michigan, USA, for providing an excellent screenplay, "Clown", based on a story by Dylan Williams.
Tyler is clearly a very talented writer and deserves a great career in movie writing. We at Bad Monkey are very grateful for the work Tyler has put in.
This is a story we are very attached to and are keen to produce in the near future.
There is, of course, the matter of our small zombie movie to get off the ground first.
And, maybe, something else...

Rewrite Part Deux
Well the weather has scuppered our hope of an August shoot but this may prove to be a blessing in disguise!
The delay has allowed Cheltenham based novelist, Jason O'Loughlin to be recruited to put his own polish on the Working Lunch script.
We are delighted to have Jason on board and can report that his early drafts have improved the story immensely.
More updates will follow…

Weather Stops Play
Damn the rain!
Frequent visitors will know that preliminary filming of "Working Lunch" was due to commence in July.
However, the worst flooding in the region for 300 years has rather restricted our opportunities for what is a, primarily, outdoor shoot.
We will reschedule and report back soon.
